Ben Lord is a self employed electrician, based in Browns Bay since 2008. Our team is comprised of Ben, who has over 20 years electrical experience, and his wife, Rach, who manages the accounts and website. They have an enthusiastic (and interminably curious!) support crew in their two boys, Cam and Asher.
Over the years, the business has grown, and we’ve upgraded our logo and traded up our vehicle. But at the heart of it all, we are a family business.
As a business we value quality – we believe in using quality gear, and we don’t cut corners. We are registered Master Electricians, so you can have confidence that we’re serious about what we do, and have the backing of the ME Workmanship Guarantee. We also care about the environment, and we do what we can to reduce our environmental impact.
But what we value the most is our customers. Our business has been built without advertising – we rely solely on referrals, so customer satisfaction isn’t just a catchphrase for us – it’s our bread and butter. Ben Lord has been a Browns Bay local since intermediate. He began his electrical career as an industrial electrician, and started out as a self employed electrician in 2008, focussing mainly on residential and light commercial work.
He’s married to Rach, and they have two boys – Cameron was born in 2017, and Asher in 2019. When he’s not busy bushwalking, mountain biking or pottering around the local skateparks with the boys, Ben enjoys playing guitar, mosaicking, and juggling. He’s also a keen DIY’er and has tried his hand at a variety of things – but he won’t be quitting his day job!
Rach is Ben’s wife, and mum to their two boys. She supports Ben’s business by managing the accounts, and also by managing the website and maintaining our online presence.
Before the kids were born, Rach worked as a graphic designer and web developer, and she still does a bit of freelance graphics work on the side. In her spare time (when she has any!) she loves to sew, or lose herself in a good book. She’s also a houseplant enthusiast – if an amaetur one! Rach cares about our environmental impact, and loves researching new ways to reduce or recycle our business waste.
